About us

"Paivand" is a cultural and educational public organization for Tajiks in Austria.

The word "Paivand" translates as "connection" and "unity." This is more than just a name—it is the philosophy of our work and a reflection of our worldview.

The organization was created to strengthen cultural, educational, and humanitarian ties between the Tajik diaspora, Austrian society, and the international community. We unite people of different generations, nationalities, and cultures around shared values—memory, education, respect, dignity, and mutual understanding.

Our activities are aimed at preserving the national identity of Tajiks, developing a dialogue between cultures, and active, creative participation in the social and cultural life of Austria.

We strive to ensure that acquaintance with Tajik culture evokes a sincere response in the heart, awakening interest and a desire to delve deeper into this country with its ancient history, rich spiritual tradition, and amazing nature.

Preservation of heritage

One of the key areas of activity of the Paivand Association is the careful preservation and transmission of the national heritage, which has evolved over centuries.
We pay special attention to:
National Tajik clothing—as a reflection of the history, aesthetics, worldview, and cultural code of the people
The Tajik language—a living bearer of memory, poetry, philosophy, and national identity
culture and art—music, dance, oral and written heritage
The history of Tajikistan—as part of the great civilizational tradition of Central Asia
For us, national clothing is not simply a traditional costume, but a language of symbols and meanings that combines craftsmanship, the continuity of generations, and respect for roots.
We place particular importance on supporting and developing the Tajik language abroad. The Paivand Association is exploring the possibility of creating cultural and educational formats and Tajik language courses in Austria, in collaboration with relevant specialists, educational institutions, and cultural partners.
We believe that language is not only a means of communication, but also the key to understanding a people's culture, history, and way of thinking.
By preserving our heritage, we preserve memory, dignity, and a sustainable future.

Our goals:

Preservation and promotion of Tajik culture, language, national dress, traditions, and art

Transmission of centuries-old historical heritage to future generations

Creation of conditions for the study of the Tajik language in a cultural and educational format, including outside of Tajikistan

Support for educational and awareness-raising initiatives

Development of intercultural dialogue between Tajikistan, Austria, and other countries

Support for youth, talent, and creative projects

Organization of cultural events: concerts, festivals, exhibitions, forums, and meetings

Cooperation with government, cultural, and educational institutions

Formation of sustainable international partnerships

A public figure and coordinator of international projects.

He has lived in Austria for many years, consistently building cultural, humanitarian, and social ties between countries and peoples.

Eduard Babadustov

Deputy President of the Association.

He is a public figure, cultural activist, and performer of traditional classical European and national music, which is an integral part of his personal and cultural identity.
